No more slut-shaming, please.

It hit me today that sometimes I'm a culprit of this. And it really pissed me off! So enough's enough. No more slut-shaming. From now until forever, I vow to:

Never judge a woman on her outfit.
Never ever (ever) blame a woman for unwanted advances because of her outfit.
Never judge a woman for "unorthodox" behaviour.
Never feel restricted to behave a certain way - set my own standards.
Never question a woman's behaviour.

Sex is power - so let's move past these sexual restrictions because they are dangerous and boring. I think it's time to put the judgments aside.

Who decided that Matthew McConaughey was going to become a good actor?

WHO made this decision? At first I called bullshit... but six episodes of True Detective later, and after watching Mud and Dallas Buyers Club, I'm a converted McConaughey lover. But now my question is HOW? And why? And most importantly... Who?

I understood when it happened to Leo - he was already a "good" or maybe even "great" actor before Titanic (think Basketball Diaries and What's Eating Gilbert Grape). Then he took a few years off, and reentered the scene as a Prestigious. But Matthew? Matty of Fool's Gold and The Wedding Planner? Who the?

I guess now we just sit on the edge of our seats and wait for what's next... with love.

Today is day one.

Ok so it's not Jan 1st or anything but it is still day one. Day one, date one, episode one, word one, paint stroke one - it's so hard to get going, no? But here we go!

Today I'm thinking about day one of the Syrian and Egyptian "revolutions" - that was almost THREE years ago. On day one I was convinced that this conflict was momentary, that there was no way it would last that long. Three years later it feels like there is no way out.

Check out this ad about the Syrian crisis - one second, one day, one year - it's truly eye opening:

It's Thursday, which is practically day one of the weekend here in Dubai. I'm already looking forward to day two :).

One love,
Dana
